Autumn Colour Necklace

Lets make it!

Measure and cut 2 x 76cm (30") lengths of cord. This includes extra for finishing.
Take a crimp bead and thread it onto the end of the cord. Then feed the cord through one of the wire guardians. Place the guardian through one of the loops on one half of the 2 string clasp and feed the cord back through the crimp bead. Holding the end of the cord, position the crimp bead so that there is about 2.5cm (1") left at the end. Pull downwards on the other end of the cord until the two pieces are tight together. Using the flat nose pliers squash the crimp closed.
For the inside string thread the beads on to the cord in the following sequence (slide a couple of the beads over both strands of the cord and cut off the excess). 4 x brown and cream 8mm round beads, alternating the colours. Then starting with a small gold bead, alternate with a mix of the cream, brown and orange cushion beads, using 31 of the cushion beads and finishing with a gold bead.
Now repeat the process in step 2 for attaching the crimp bead, wire guardian and the other side of the clasp. It is best to keep the clasp closed to ensure the strings correspond with the other side. Feed the cord back through the last two or three beads and cut off any excess.
The outside row is produced in the same way, attach the crimp bead, wire guardians, then 4 round 8mm beads, a small gold bead and then alternate with 35 of the cushion beads and gold beads, finishing with a gold bead and 4 round beads. Finally, attached the crimp bead, wire guardian and fasten onto the clasp as in step 4.
